Designing My Portfolio: A Methodology

I have long considered iWeb to be the pinnacle of web design. Though obsolete by today standards, Apple’s iWeb set forth with a compelling WYSIWYG.


I had tried WordPress before, which was great until it wasn’t. For the record, I think the platform is heading in the right direction. The new Gutenberg editor is great, and comes with a number of thoughtful designs. I would even go as far as saying that 2020, the annual theme that WordPress puts out every year, was the first default theme that didn’t send me.

Image processing was slow.


One of the most important aspects of modern design are setting your standards. The intuitive aesthetic sense of the designer is eventually made concrete in standardization.



Personally, I like to start with a single page or art board, where I get the feel of my project. I experiment with different fonts, colors, and layouts. 


This is a question of discipline, in the sense that you set out with a clear idea of what you will do and what you won’t do.
